In this position you will provide routine staff level guidance to publications originators. Assists the supervisor in program management tasks and provides support for publications management projects assigned by the supervisor. You will receive questions regarding program functions from the organizations serviced. You will research for and provides answers to these problems by reviewing a variety of sources such as publications, reference materials, and program records to collect pertinent information. You will analyze the information collected, identifies the various courses of action, and uses experienced judgment in selecting the best one. You will receive manuscripts for editing from proponents or section chief. You will maintain a record of manuscripts pending and in progress. You will provide periodic reports of status to the section chief as required. You will prepare and/or provide information and assistance on any or all phases of editing to other editorial personnel in the office, as well as to installation personnel as required. You will edit a wide variety of manuscripts submitted to the activity to include the following: make a preliminary analysis of the manuscript to identify the general purpose, type, format, and subject matter involved; identify the various references and guidelines which are applicable; check the format, subject matter, and purpose against publication requirements to publication proposed; and assures that proponent hag obtained necessary coordination. Develops new formats where guidelines do not exist; analyze the manuscript internally and in comparison with preparation guidelines to assure that the subject coverage is consistent with command functions and organizations; required objectives are achieved; format requirements are satisfied; the organization is logical and consistent; there in no redundancy; conclusions are supported by facts; the level of writing is appropriate for the intended audience; grammar, spelling, punctuation and hyphenation are accurate; references to forms and publications are accurate and properly identified; the titles, captions, and nomenclature are consistent; technical abbreviations and acronyms are accurate; there is no conflict with or improper duplication of other related publications; and the illustrations are correlated with the narrative.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
