## Position Purpose
To identify the web-related needs of Thayer School of Engineering and to develop, maintain, and manage its websites and associated information databases.
## Skills & Knowledge
Proven ability to develop and maintain dynamic web pages.
Knowledge of web-development technologies such as HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP, XML.
Ability to enact responsive design.
Prior experience with web content management systems.
Knowledge of current trends and issues in web-based communication.
Strong editorial skills in maintaining high standards for written content.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple, shifting priorities.
Ability to work independently on different projects, and interact with School-wide and campus-wide constituencies.
Advanced computer skills, including scripting and database management.
Ability to communicate effectively with engineering faculty on educational and research issues requiring web development.
Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
## Minimum Experience
Three years experience in web-applicable information management or the equivalent.
Experience with archival management and database generation.
Also desirable: Experience in science or engineering.
## Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

## Key Accountabilities
Development/Maintenance
Manages the development and maintenance of the School's website and related electronic information.
Ensures currency and accuracy of website information with updates as needed.
Monitors and maintains quality and consistency of top-level web pages.
Out-sources design and software development work as needed.
Regularly evaluates usability, accessibility, and target-audience issues, including website traffic analysis, and recommends upgrades and improvements.
Monitors Dartmouth College and external websites to ensure accurate, complete, and appropriate references to the School's site, including links to/from appropriate web pages and other engineering resources.
Develops web content management protocols and uses software to facilitate routine web maintenance tasks.
Develops web interactive tools and information databases to support Thayer School recruitment and educational activities.
Collaboration/Communication
Works with faculty and directors of academic programs and admissions, alumni relations, career services, communications, advancement, information technology, instructional laboratories, the dean's office, and others to identify the School's web-related needs and to implement appropriate web content and website functionality.
Collaborates with the Communications Office to implement design, content, and organization in support of the overall communications strategy for the website.
Works with faculty at Thayer to create web content and/or microsites to promote their research and teaching activities.
Works with members of the Thayer community to create and maintain web-based tools to be used by current students, faculty, and staff.
Manages web content management systems, trains new users, and provides ongoing support.
Creates and maintains documentation for website procedures and processes.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
