## Position Purpose
To help facilitate research in the van der Meer lab.

## Minimum Experience
3 years of relevant laboratory/research experience
## Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree with a major in one of the Biological Sciences or the equivalent.

## Key Accountabilities
Research/Experiments
Designs, tests and assembles experimental hardware such as behavioral setups for rodents (mazes, operant boxes), and arrays of recording electrodes.
Based on training by the PI or other lab personnel, and with regular supervision, performs rodent experiments, including but not limited to behavioral training and recording of neural signals, as well as the associated construction and maintenance.
Identifies, troubleshoots, and corrects or recommends solutions to problems associated with experimental methods, procedures, and techniques; or equipment and facilities.
As necessary, develops and/or implements new or modified research methods, procedures, and techniques to meet the unique requirements of assigned research problems.
Assists in surgical procedures.
Adheres to laboratory safety requirements including general and chemical/hazardous waste safety disposal methods.
Records
Maintains laboratory records of procedures.
Applies sound data management procedures, such as following naming conventions and backing up acquired data to secure locations.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
