### Position Information
## Position Purpose
Under close supervision, maintains kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Collects dirty dishes; sets up, loads and operates the dish washing machine. Distributes clean items to appropriate areas. Sweeps and mops floors in kitchen areas. Assists with catering deliveries. Performs a variety of custodial duties.
## Skills & Knowledge
Ability to learn the proper operation and maintenance of dish washing machines.
Ability to perform routine custodial
cleaning work.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment (powered and hand operated).
Knowledge of safe use of various chemical substances used for cleaning purposes.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must have successfully completed the following training prior to performing work to which the training relates:
- Blood Borne Pathogens
- Hazard Communication
## Minimum Experience
Previous dish washing experience; or the equivalent.
## Minimum Education
High School graduate preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Duties:
Gathers items from the bakery, salad room, butcher shop, lounge and kitchen for disposal or washing.
Scrapes food from dirty dishes and places them in racks; sets up, loads, and operates the dish washing machine.
Washes pots, pans, and trays by hand.
Distributes all utensils, china, silverware, and pots to appropriate areas after washing.
Washes worktables, walls, and work areas.
Sweeps and mops floors.
Assists with catering deliveries; loads and unloads handtrucks; picks up or delivers supplies or food items.
Cleans and maintains restrooms; scours, disinfects, and deodorizes toilet bowls and sinks and wipes, cleans and polishes counters/vanities.
Picks up, segregates and bags trash and garbage and removes all trash and rubbish to designated areas.
Sweeps dirt and leaves and shovels snow from walkways and spreads sand on walkways.
Records amount and type of supplies on hand. Assists with supply inventory.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
